Carpet Cleaning Bermondsey Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Carpet Cleaning Bermondsey provides professional cleaning services to customers. By booking a service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before making a booking.
1. Definitions
In these Terms and Conditions, the following expressions have the meanings set out below:
Customer means any individual, company or organisation that requests, books or receives services from Carpet Cleaning Bermondsey.
Services means any carpet cleaning, upholstery cleaning, rug cleaning, stain removal, end of tenancy cleaning, or related cleaning services provided by Carpet Cleaning Bermondsey.
Premises means the property, building or location at which the Services are to be carried out.
Agreement means the contract between the Customer and Carpet Cleaning Bermondsey formed in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
2. Scope of Services
Carpet Cleaning Bermondsey provides domestic and commercial cleaning services within Bermondsey and selected surrounding areas. The exact scope of the Services for each booking will be agreed with the Customer at the time of booking and confirmed in the booking confirmation.
Unless expressly agreed in writing, the Services are limited to the tasks, areas and items specifically described in the booking confirmation or subsequent written agreement. Any additional services requested on the day are subject to availability and may incur extra charges.
3. Booking Process
Bookings may be requested by the Customer through the methods made available by Carpet Cleaning Bermondsey from time to time, such as online booking forms or other accepted channels. A booking request is not confirmed until the Customer receives a booking confirmation from Carpet Cleaning Bermondsey.
When making a booking, the Customer must provide accurate and complete information, including the address of the Premises, type and approximate size of the areas or items to be cleaned, parking availability, access arrangements, and any relevant information about the condition of carpets, rugs, or upholstery.
Carpet Cleaning Bermondsey reserves the right to refuse any booking request at its discretion, including where the Services requested fall outside its normal service area or capabilities.
The Customer is responsible for ensuring that the person making the booking has the authority to do so on behalf of the Customer.
4. Access to the Premises
The Customer must ensure that Carpet Cleaning Bermondsey and its cleaners have safe, uninterrupted access to the Premises at the agreed date and time. This includes arranging suitable parking, entry codes, keys or the presence of an authorised person to provide access.
If access is not available at the agreed time, or if access is delayed, Carpet Cleaning Bermondsey may treat the appointment as a late cancellation and may charge a fee as described in the cancellation section.
The Customer must ensure that the Premises are reasonably clear of obstacles and personal items that may interfere with the performance of the Services. Carpet Cleaning Bermondsey is not responsible for moving heavy furniture, fragile items or personal belongings unless expressly agreed in advance.
5. Customer Obligations
The Customer agrees to:
Provide accurate and up to date information regarding the condition of the carpets, rugs, upholstery and any previous treatments or cleaning products used.
Inform Carpet Cleaning Bermondsey of any known risks or hazards at the Premises, including loose flooring, damaged carpets, poor lighting, or any other safety concerns.
Ensure electricity and water are available at the Premises for the duration of the Services.
Supervise children, pets, and vulnerable persons during the visit to ensure safety and avoid interference with the cleaning process.
6. Pricing and Quotes
Prices for Services are based on the information provided by the Customer at the time of booking. Any quote given before an on-site inspection is an estimate only and may be adjusted if the actual condition or size of the areas to be cleaned differs significantly from the information provided.
Prices are normally calculated based on service type, item size, number of rooms or areas, level of soiling, and access conditions. Additional charges may apply for heavily soiled carpets, extensive stain removal, or if extra time and resources are required.
Any changes to pricing will be communicated to the Customer before the commencement of the Services. If the Customer does not agree to the revised price, the booking may be cancelled in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
7. Payments
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment for the Services is due on completion of the work on the day of service. Payment methods accepted will be advised to the Customer at the time of booking or on the invoice.
For certain bookings, such as large commercial jobs or end of tenancy cleans, Carpet Cleaning Bermondsey may require a deposit or full payment in advance. The Customer will be notified of any such requirement when the booking is made.
If payment is not made on the due date, Carpet Cleaning Bermondsey reserves the right to charge interest on any overdue amount and to take such steps as it considers necessary to recover the debt, including legal action where appropriate. The Customer will be responsible for all reasonable costs and expenses incurred by Carpet Cleaning Bermondsey in recovering overdue payments.
8. Cancellations and Rescheduling
The Customer may cancel or reschedule a booking by providing reasonable notice. Unless otherwise stated in writing, at least 24 hours notice before the scheduled appointment time is required for cancellations or changes without charge.
If the Customer cancels or reschedules with less than 24 hours notice, Carpet Cleaning Bermondsey may apply a cancellation fee, which may be a fixed amount or a percentage of the quoted service price, to cover lost time and costs.
If the Customer is not present at the Premises at the agreed time, or if access is not available, or if the Premises are not in a state that reasonably allows the Services to be carried out, Carpet Cleaning Bermondsey may treat the booking as cancelled and apply the applicable cancellation fee.
Carpet Cleaning Bermondsey may cancel or reschedule a booking in exceptional circumstances, such as staff illness, equipment failure, extreme weather, or other events beyond its reasonable control. In such cases, Carpet Cleaning Bermondsey will endeavour to give as much notice as possible and to offer an alternative appointment. Carpet Cleaning Bermondsey will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from such cancellation or rescheduling, other than a refund of any payment made for Services not provided.
9. Service Quality and Complaints
Carpet Cleaning Bermondsey aims to provide Services with reasonable care and skill. If the Customer is dissatisfied with any aspect of the Services, they must notify Carpet Cleaning Bermondsey as soon as reasonably possible, and in any event within 48 hours of completion of the work.
Upon receiving a complaint, Carpet Cleaning Bermondsey may request photographs, descriptions or other evidence, and may arrange a visit to inspect the work. If Carpet Cleaning Bermondsey, acting reasonably, accepts that the Services were not performed with reasonable care and skill, it may offer a re-clean of the affected area or another appropriate solution at no additional charge. This shall be the Customer’s sole and exclusive remedy for service quality issues.
Carpet Cleaning Bermondsey is not responsible for pre-existing damage, wear and tear, permanent stains, or deterioration that cannot be remedied by professional cleaning. No guarantee is given that all stains can be removed, or that carpets and fabrics will be restored to their original appearance.
10. Liability
Carpet Cleaning Bermondsey will exercise reasonable care in providing the Services and in handling items at the Premises. However, the Customer acknowledges that there are inherent risks in cleaning certain materials, and that results can vary depending on age, quality, and previous treatment.
Carpet Cleaning Bermondsey will not be liable for:
Damage arising from pre-existing defects, weak fibres, loose backing, or previous improper cleaning or treatment.
Colour loss, fading, shrinkage, or texture changes resulting from the cleaning process where such risks were explained to the Customer or are generally associated with the material type.
Any indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profits, loss of use, or loss of opportunity.
In any event, the total liability of Carpet Cleaning Bermondsey for any loss or damage arising out of or in connection with the Services, whether in contract, tort or otherwise, shall not exceed the total price paid or payable by the Customer for the specific Services giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
11. Customer Property and Personal Items
The Customer is responsible for securing or removing valuable, fragile or sentimental items from the areas where the Services will be performed. Carpet Cleaning Bermondsey does not accept responsibility for loss of or damage to items that were not removed or adequately protected prior to the start of the work.
Any keys or access devices provided to Carpet Cleaning Bermondsey are held at the Customer’s risk. Carpet Cleaning Bermondsey will take reasonable care to safeguard such items while they are in its possession and will return them in accordance with the Customer’s instructions.
12. Waste Handling and Environmental Regulations
Carpet Cleaning Bermondsey will manage waste and used cleaning materials arising from the Services in accordance with applicable environmental and waste management regulations in the United Kingdom.
Any waste generated during the normal course of carpet and upholstery cleaning, such as used water, cleaning residues and minor debris, will be handled responsibly. Where required, waste will be removed from the Premises and disposed of through appropriate channels.
The Customer must inform Carpet Cleaning Bermondsey in advance if there are any hazardous substances or special waste at the Premises that may be encountered during the Services. Carpet Cleaning Bermondsey reserves the right to refuse to handle hazardous materials or to apply additional charges if special disposal procedures are required.
Carpet Cleaning Bermondsey will endeavour to use cleaning products and methods that are effective and mindful of environmental considerations, while ensuring that they are suitable for the specific materials and conditions at the Premises.
13. Health and Safety
Carpet Cleaning Bermondsey operates in accordance with applicable health and safety regulations. The Customer agrees not to interfere with the cleaning process or equipment and to follow any reasonable instructions given by the cleaning operatives for safety reasons.
The Customer must ensure that areas being cleaned remain free from unnecessary foot traffic during and immediately after the cleaning process, including allowing appropriate drying time for carpets and upholstery to minimise slip risks and damage.
14. Insurance
Carpet Cleaning Bermondsey maintains insurance cover appropriate to the nature of its business. Details of this insurance can be made available upon reasonable request. The existence of insurance does not extend or increase the liability of Carpet Cleaning Bermondsey beyond that set out in these Terms and Conditions.
15. Amendments to Terms and Conditions
Carpet Cleaning Bermondsey may update or amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The version in force at the time of the Customer’s booking will apply to that booking. Customers are encouraged to review the Terms and Conditions periodically to stay informed of any changes.
16. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions and any Agreement arising from them are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
Any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or the Services provided by Carpet Cleaning Bermondsey shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
17. Severability
If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found by a court or other competent authority to be invalid, illegal or unenforceable, that provision shall be deemed deleted, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
18. Entire Agreement
These Terms and Conditions, together with any written booking confirmation or other written agreement between the Customer and Carpet Cleaning Bermondsey, constitute the entire agreement between the parties in relation to the Services and supersede any previous understandings, agreements or representations, whether oral or written.
